On May 6, 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed the Home Hardening Tax Exemption relief bill. For the first time ever, it will make impact-resistant windows, doors, and garage doors, TAX FREE for two years, starting July 1, 2022. Florida sales tax is 6% and the bill is estimated to put $462M of buying power back in the hands of Florida homeowners.
While this bill only applies to impact-resistant material costs, excluding labor, permits, and other job costs, in an effort to aid Florida homeowners in the hardening of their home, NewSouth is offering impact windows & doors completely tax free. NewSouth wants to help make impact-resistant products more affordable; to protect property and lives from the devastation that can be left behind in the wake of a hurricane.
We are #NewSouthProud to manufacture impact-resistant products approved for use in the wind-borne debris region and the 175 MPH Miami-Dade High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). Some additional benefits of our impact-resistant products are noise reduction and intruder resistance.
We hope you will take advantage of this monumental tax exemption and join the NewSouth family so we can make you #NewSouthProud too.
A temporary sales tax exemption period on impact-resistant doors, impact-resistant garage doors, and impact-resistant windows begins July 1, 2022, and ends June 30, 2024. During this sales tax exemption period, tax is not due on the retail sales of impact-resistant doors, impact-resistant garage doors, and impact-resistant windows for commercial or noncommercial use.
